The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu (PCG-Honolulu) and Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Los Angeles (POLO-LA) met today, 11 July 2022, with officials of the U.S. Department of Labor-Wage and Hour Division (DOL-WHD) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), to discuss the promotion and advancement of the rights of Filipino working visa holders in Hawaii.
The DOL-WHD is mandated with implementing workplace U.S. laws and regulations. The OSHA assures safe and healthful working conditions by enforcing standards, and providing training, outreach, education and assistance.
Representing the Philippine Consulate and POLO-LA were Consul Grace Anne Bulos, Labor Attache Marie Rose C. Escalada, and Processing Officer Hamdan B. Sayedy. DOL-WHD was represented by District Director Terence J. Trotter and Mr. Herbert Lee.
