Los Angeles – The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) with the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles met with the US Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division in Los Angeles on 06 July 2022. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss possible collaborations and resolutions in addressing concerns of Filipino workers in Los Angeles which include but not limited to the promotion and protection of the welfare, interest and rights of all Filipino workers regardless of their immigration status; employees’ wage and hour issues and other labor concerns affecting their employment in Los Angeles.

For the Philippine side, representatives include Consul Francis Maynard S. Maleon, Vice Consul Joan Macrise C. Corrado, Assistance to Nationals Officer, Ms. Hazel SJ Manahan-Mendoza, Mr. Rommel Briones, Labor Attaché Marie Rose Escalada and Assistance Labor Attaches Atty. Miguel Ignacio Maria S. Castriciones and Macy Monique A. Maglanque. U.S. DOL was represented by District Director, Kimchi Bui and Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist, Mr. Randolph Tan.
