The Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Los Angeles (POLO-LA) met today, 11 July 2022, with officials of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu (PCG-Honolulu) for a courtesy call on Consul General Emilio T. Fernandez, and to promote and advance the rights of Filipino workers overseas through its first outreach mission to Hawaii.

POLO-LA is mandated with ensuring the protection of the rights, and promotion of the welfare and interests of overseas Filipino migrant workers, and assisting them on all problems arising out of employer-employee relationship. Other than the West Coast of the USA, islands such as Hawaii are under its jurisdiction.

Representing POLO-LA were Labor Attache Marie Rose C. Escalada and Processing Officer Hamdan B. Sayedy. The Consulate General of Honolulu was represented by Consul General Emilio T. Fernandez and Consul Grace Anne Bulos.
